This has been a main destination for college kids as a destination to go backpacking through for years. It is only a matter of time before this hidden gem becomes more expensive and crowded due to its growing popularity. If you are looking to site see on some gorgeous colonial buildings you have to go to Granda. If you decide to go to Granada then Laguna de Apoyo is you next destination being just 20 minutes away, which is a volcanic lake in the town of Massaya.
