Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is a well-known botanical garden located at the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. This garden, which was founded to preserve the country’s unique flora, places a strong emphasis on the cultivation of indigenous plants.
I walked through the garden on my way to hike Table Mountain. Even during the dead of winter there was plenty to see and it was all beautiful. A great diversity of plants and a very peaceful place to walk around and explore. If you are planning to hike Table Mountain, I definitely recommend beginning by walking through the garden beforehand.
